Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My teaser:
“The trail was right where I’d left it in Warner Springs, waiting like a king snake in the high grass. A half-eaten mouse lay dead in the dirt, a look of astonishment on its face.”
–from page 314 of Dan White’s The Cactus Eaters.
Pro-tip, folks… don’t read this one. It’s a memoir of a guy hiking the Pacific Crest Trail with his then-girlfriend, and you won’t find a more narcissistic, annoying individual as a narrator than this guy. 🙁
Leave a comment with a link to your own Teaser Tuesday post, or just leave the teaser in the comment if you don’t have a blog!
